With a Valentine day around, romantic celebrations have gained momentum. Whether it’s a rose day, chocolate day or hug day, people are showcasing their love life to just another level.

For people, it may be just a romantic date with partner or party time. But Valentine day is a perfect opportunity to strengthen our relationship with partner.

But, why should we insist for healthy relationship with our partner ?

Because it’s  good for our emotional wellness too.

Yes, strong and fulfilling relationship is a backbone of happy and satisfied life. 

Healthy relationship for emotional wellness

Human being is a social animal and there is an inherent need to form deep connections with others. We form various types of relationships with different people throughout our life. From family and partners to friends or colleagues, each relationship is unique. And all these relationships play a pivotal role in shaping our mental health. 

Still, our relationship with our partner is most precious one. 

A healthy relationship with our partner gives us emotional support that can positively impact our life. No matter what is our age, healthy relationship with our partner gives us a sense of belonging. There is no doubt we all need emotional support from our loved ones to alleviate loneliness and reduce mental distress.

This sense of security reminds us that we’re protected in this chaotic world. Indeed such mutually supported partnership is good to thrive well. 

And of course, we can’t forget about happiness. Being in a good relationship, give us a chance to enjoy little things in life. Unconditional love provided by a partner is the key to feel pleasure and joy. When we feel happy, our attitude towards life is more positive. When we have much to look forward to life, we get to inspire to chase our dreams. In fact, it acts like a motivation for healthy behavior and lifestyle choices. 

Navigating the changing dynamics of relationship 

Each one of us is different and therefore, our mindset too. Therefore, disagreement and arguments are common from time to time.

In fact, each relationship comes with own set of challenges.

Each interaction with partner may not be a good experience. Added to that, handling other family members, dealing with difficult relatives, navigating arguments, or maintaining long distance relationship are all troublesome experiences.

Building healthy relationship is difficult and maintaining it up to the mark requires skills. 

But considering it’s emotional benefits, it’s crucial to nurture our relationship through healthy ways. Most of the time open communication is the key. Uplifting each other through conversations, conflict resolution, preforming shared activities or simply being together help to sole most of the challenges in a better way. When we better at communicating and understanding each other it’s easy to develop meaningful connections.

And more importantly, trust is an important aspect of any relationship. A trust and mutual support help to establish stable partnership by striking the right balance in the life.

Yes, strengthening healthy relationship takes effort and compromise. And we need to work on it from a place of love and not judgement.

So, whether it’s a Valentine day or any other regular day of the year, make sure we are creating lasting bond with partner. Our major goal must be to build healthy relationship throughout our lifetime.
