Take it slowly on your path of recovery

Stigma attached to depression is still worrisome part. However, remember that you don’t have to give justification or prove yourself to every person coming on your way.

On a personal level, you can do several things to ensure your mental well-being.

First step is focusing your mind on your body and healthy lifestyle. Start practicing self-care by putting yourself first with focus on nutrition, hydration and physical activity. Set some small realistic and achievable goals and try to accomplish them with baby steps each day. Set a routine for a day and try to complete all tasks at a specified time. This will keep you engaged in meaningful activities. Keeping yourself well by having routine and structure in your daily life help you to get back on the path to wellness.

Connect with nature and get some sunshine to boost your happy hormones. There’s evidence that natural sunlight exposure can be energizing and mood boosting. Seeing nature has its own benefits for lifting a spirit. Being in nature may be a good reset for you. You find solace and hope, highlighting the power of nature as a source of healing and rejuvenation.

You will get a really clear view of who you are and what you want to be and where you want to go.  Your path to healing began with a deep understanding of your priorities and embracing life as a part of your journey towards wellness.

Rising above depression

“Why me?”

You might be asking this question every single day since the diagnosis of disease. And you be bottling-up your emotions making yourself helpless.

This is the time to share or express yourself in healthy ways. Sharing your feelings with someone whom you trust like honest friend or your loved ones will help you to get rid of overwhelming feelings of sadness. If you are not comfortable with sharing, write down all your feelings on a piece of paper. It is another good way to reduce heavy baggage of emotions.

Work with your therapist to recognize your pattern of thinking and create strategies to move forward.

There’s no shame in having any type of depression. It’s not a sign of weakness or anything. Rather, it’s a time to illustrate a path of self-acceptance.

Remember that life is a wonderful journey, and continuing it requires cooperation and support from loved ones. The richness of human life lies in its interconnectedness. For some practical purposes, you need to rely on people around you for a lot of things. No doubt, you might need help around the clock.

So, avoid urging to stay alone. Rather maintain social connectivity by rebuilding a bond with others who are caring and supportive. Asking for and accepting help is important in a recovery process.

It’s always your misconception that you are the only one going through difficult time.

But you are not alone.

In fact, a lot of people have been through experiences similar to yours.

You can join a support group where you have a chance to meet with people experiencing similar challenges. They have also found their own ways to cope with situation. After discovering that you aren’t the only person feeling out of control and isolated, you may be able to express yourself well.

When you no longer feel alone you found your inner strength. Knowing that someone else with similar condition can thrive may help you to feel better. Even you can get some ideas on what you can do for yourself. It’s always possible to come out the other side. There’s always a way through. Seek help by reconnecting with people and building support network to rediscover a sense of joy.

Believe yourself. You can continue with normal life with treatment and adoption of healthy lifestyle. Even you can lead a longer and productive life when you count your blessings and work hard.

Despite your optimism, depression may get to you where you no longer belong. Though depression is not normally a fatal disease, it is your troubled emotional state that can worsen your condition. However, navigating the challenges you face, offers a message of resilience and self-discovery. Reclaiming your identity and finding strength can empower your life’s journey.
