Future uncertainties and worries create a horrible movie in our mind, and we start to expect the worst.

But are you hundred percent sure that all of your uncertainties, imagination and fear of future will come true?

Also Check : Be Okay With Uncertainty

Let’s for example 10-15 years before, you may had different uncertainties based on the problems you were facing at that time frame. Did all those past uncertainties come true for you within these years?

The answer is definitely no for most of the fears.

Moreover, there is no need to directly jump to the conclusion if we are not aware about so many things about future life. In this dynamic world, where everything changes within a short span of time, how can we expect that all our bad imaginations will come true?

Even if there is a chance that uncertainty will come true, then can’t we think about other possible ways that would be helpful to minimize the impact of adversity?

It is good to remember that dwelling on our thoughts is not going to solve our problem. Instead of focusing on a problem, looking for the solution will be helpful in a long run.

Many people get trap in “What if’ kind of questions.

For student it is the thought of “what if I will fail in examination?”, for job seekers it is the worry regarding “what if I am unable to get a better job?”, for artist it is the anxiety of “what if I am unable to perform well in an event?” and for person with health issue it is fear, “how my family will survive without me?”.

Yes, we all become victims of such kinds of “what if…..?” questions.

But don’t you think preparing ourselves will be helpful to overcome them?

What do I mean by preparing yourself?

Students can study hard; job seekers can focus more on skill development; an artist can practice for event and person with health issue can plan for developing healthy habits that can improve chances for survival.

Instead of just thinking on factors that you can’t control, try to focus on things that you can manage at current moment. Ask yourself what I can do at my level best to solve the problem? How can I solve my problem in a different but productive way?

Sometimes you will not understand the gravity of a situation until, you actually get engaged in those activities. Remember that worry will not lead to insight but problem solving help you to move forward.

At this phase, ignoring unnecessary conversations and focusing on what we want from our life is an ideal way to make our life better.
